What would be the best small dehumidifier for bathroom use ?
The bathroom is naturally a very humid room, especially if you have a large family – if you’ve ever been at back of the daily queue for the bathroom, then you’ll know how difficult it is to try and make yourself presentable when the bathroom mirror is all steamed up.
As well as the excess moisture that’s in the air from showering, there may be leaks in the pipes and wet towels draped over the towel rail, just releasing a constant stream of water vapour into the air. If, on top of that, you don’t have a very well ventilated bathroom, then you run the risk of mold developing around the room, which can have serious implications to your health.
There is a solution – a dehumidifier will pull that moisture out of the air, making it drier and reducing the chance of mold and mildew from developing. However, if you’re bathroom is compact you won’t want a big unit taking up all the space – but then a really small unit may not be powerful enough to remove the excess moisture from the wettest room in the house.
So, we need to find the best small dehumidifier for bathroom use – one that is small but powerful enough to carry out the job. Hopefully we can help you narrow down the search with this handy shortlist…

Honest opinion :
The majority of buyers have been more than impressed with this machine, most of which have been using it in their bathrooms and basements. Some happy customers have been using it in their campers, RVs and trucks and found it does the job perfectly. Of those who felt that it wasn’t what they were expecting, the majority of their gripes were about the longevity of the machine, saying that the performance started to wane after about a year. However, quite a few people have reported that when things have gone wrong, customer service has been excellent and failed units have been replaced by the manufacturer.

This compact unit is getting really good reviews and it’s very hard to find buyers who have anything to moan about. Most people are raving about how it’s perfect for the bathroom, how it’s quiet, easy to use and most importantly, really does it’s job well. The only negatives we’ve found are a couple of mentions about the unit can take a while to collect moisture, but even these are balanced by comments about the unit does fill up its tank and reduces the humidity in the bathroom significantly.
Retailing around the $35-40 mark, this unit is very affordable and is getting really great reviews. Best of the bunch.

- Transparent water tank to keep track of water level
- Sleek Swiss design
- Removes up to 10 oz of moisture a day
Honest Opinion :
A little more expensive than the other models we’ve looked at here, but then this has a few extra touches. There’s a lot of great reports from people using it effectively, 24/7 in rooms over 1000 square feet. Buyers seem to like the sleek design of the unit and the fact that they can monitor the water level through the transparent reservoir window.
This is around twice the price of the other products we’ve reviewed here. Yes it does look a little sleeker and you can see the water level. If this isn’t much of a dealbreaker to you, then maybe go with the Hysure Compact instead.
